Ethics, Scope & Use
Purpose
The Response Integrity Framework (RIF) is a research-informed framework focused on ethical governance and the design of organizational response systems related to workplace harm.
The framework is intended to support education, analysis, and system-level understanding of how harm is reported, managed, and responded to within institutions.
Scope of the Framework
RIF focuses on:
-
Governance structures and decision pathways
-
Response design and accountability mechanisms
-
Procedural integrity during harm-related processes
-
Systemic patterns that contribute to escalation, delay, or attrition
The framework is concerned with how systems respond, not with adjudicating individual cases.
Important Boundaries
The Response Integrity Framework does not:
-
Provide legal advice
-
Provide clinical, therapeutic, or medical services
-
Replace investigations, regulatory processes, or disciplinary authority
-
Offer determinations, findings, or case-specific judgments
Any application of the framework should occur alongside — not in place of — appropriate legal, clinical, or organizational processes.
Developmental Status
The Response Integrity Framework is a developing body of work informed by research, lived experience, and ongoing analysis. Concepts, tools, and materials may evolve over time.
Independence
RIF is an independent framework and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any regulatory, adjudicative, or enforcement body.
Use of Materials
Framework materials may be referenced for educational and informational purposes. Use does not constitute professional advice or establish any advisory or client relationship.
